California Gubernatorial Recall Election

There are 2 items on the ballot:

  1. Recall of Governor Gavin Newsom – Vote Yes or No
  2. Vote for a candidate to become Governor of California if the Governor is recalled – vote for 1 of 46 listed candidates or write in a name

If you choose to vote No on the recall, you may still vote for a replacement candidate in case the Governor is recalled.

Because of the continued concern regarding the Covid-19 Delta Variant, all registered voters in Los Angeles County were mailed a Vote by Mail ballot.  Any resident can vote:

  1. Return the Vote by Mail ballot
    a.  Use the prepaid return envelope:

    1. Deposit it in a U.S. mailbox (must be posted marked by 9/14/21)
    2. Deposit it in a Official Ballot Drop Box (deposit no later than 8 pm on Tuesday, 9/14/21)
    3. Return it to any Vote Center
  1. Vote in person at a Vote Center
    a.  It is not necessary to return your Vote by Mail Ballot if you decide to vote in person. It will be cancelled when you vote in person
    b.  If you are not registered, you can register to vote at a Vote Center and vote provisionally that same day. Your eligibility will be verified before your vote is counted

4 day Vote Centers:

Saturday, September 11, 2021 through Monday September 13, 2021 OPEN 10 am to 7 pm

Election Day – Tuesday, September 14, 2021 OPEN 7 am to 8 pm

 

11 day Vote Centers:

Saturday, September 4, 2021 through Monday September 13, 2021 OPEN 10 am to 7 pm

Election Day – Tuesday, September 14, 2021 OPEN 7 am to 8 pm
