On July 20 the Northridge West Neighborhood along with five other Council District 12 (CD 12) Neighborhood Councils organized a Town Hall Debate between CD 12 candidates Dr. Loraine Lundquist and Mr. John Lee. The event was co-hosted and co-sponsored by Granada Hills South, Granada Hills North, Northridge East, North Hills West, and Porter Ranch Neighborhood Councils.
In an unprecedented show of collaboration between regional Neighborhood Councils, NWNC, NENC, GHSNC, GHNNC, NHWNC, and PRNC worked diligently to create a space where stakeholders and community members could hear from the two candidates ahead of the August 13th election.
Moderated by Tanya McRae of Spectrum News, the event was held in Highlander Hall in Granada Hills Charter High School. Over 250 stakeholders and community members packed Highlander Hall to hear the candidates respond to questions on public safety, ethics, use of public funds, parks and recreation, and homelessness. In addition, several questions were presented to the candidates submitted by audience members.
