NWNC Operation Clean Sweep – Week 28 Plans

To all Northridge Stakeholders:

You are all invited this Saturday 1/22/11 (7AM to 10AM) to join in the trend setting efforts of the Northridge West Neighborhood Councils sponsored Operation Clean Sweep along the west & east sides of Tampa Avenue from Germain Ave to Devonshire Street and along Tampa Avenue medians from Germain to Devonshire Street.

This weekend’s mission will be to fine tune and clean up any of the overhanging trees/bushes/debris along the west side of Tampa between Tunney and Devonshire Street and to clean up the medians along Tampa from Devonshire Street to Germain Street.

So please tell your friends, neighbors or anyone you think that would be interested in helping improve our community to come and join us as we build our team of dedicated volunteers committed to having fun, meeting new people and making Northridge a cleaner, greener and safer place to live, learn and work. Parking will be on Blackhawk Street along the east side of Tampa Avenue just one block north of Devonshire Street. We will be starting around 7AM and meeting on the south-east corner of Tampa Ave & Blackhawk Street to review the game plan, discuss who won the Pre-Super Bowl Clean Sweep operation last weekend (Some contention seems to be in the air over who has the bragging rights – the Ravens or Eagles) over coffee, donuts, and bagels. Please contact me if you have any questions or need directions.
ATTENTION:  Thursday 1/20/11 Operation Retirement Clean Sweep meets

Reminder to all:  This Thursday January 20 at 9 am, we will meet at the NE corner of Lassen Street and Vanalden Avenue to clean up the north side of Lassen from Vanalden to Wilbur. Just look for the orange cones.  We will clean the tree wells by pruning tree suckers and removing weeds and then we will sweep it clean.  This is a heavily traveled area for the Nobel Middle School students, so let the students know you care!   Students are less likely to litter when the area is cleared of litter.  Park on Vanalden Avenue just north of Lassen.  Hope to see you there!  Great exercise and great friends!  Refreshments will be provided.  We are out there every Thursday, hope you will join the fun.   If you have questions:

With your help we are demonstrating that as a united community we can stamp out unsightly areas within our neighborhoods by joining hands and working together one block at a time. So please come join us as we build new friendships, develop existing ones while having fun improving and building a closer and cleaner, safer community. Thank you for helping keep America beautiful!

2019 Year In Review

The Northridge West Neighborhood Council held elections, seated new Board Members and launched energetic committees that are hard at work on public safety, homelessness, government affairs, planning and land use, beautification, and outreach issues. We hosted informative speakers, supported the community with grants and invite you to join us in 2020 to keep Northridge a wonderful place to live and work.
