To all Northridge Stakeholders:
You are all invited this Saturday 11/6/10 (7AM to 11:30AM) to join in the trend setting efforts of the Northridge West Neighborhood Councils sponsored Operation Clean Sweep along the East side of Tampa Avenue from Chatsworth to Nashville and then the 118 Freeway. Saturday’s operations will be complimented again by the parents and students from Beckford Elementary School who worked so hard last weekend in cleaning up Chatsworth Street of all the debris that we exceeded our inventory of trash bags. This weekend’s event will continue the Councils efforts of reaching out into the local communities for their support and assistance in making Northridge a cleaner, greener, safer place to live, work, play and learn.
The goal will be to have all the chaperones and students remove debris along the north and south sides of Chatsworth between Vanalden to Tampa. The second crew will continue cleaning up the graffiti, dense over growth of trees, brush, weeds, and debris between Chatsworth to Nashville Street in our march towards the 118 Freeway along the east side of Tampa Avenue. So please tell your friends, neighbors or anyone you think that maybe interested in joining our dream team of dedicated volunteers committed to having fun, meeting new people and making Northridge a cleaner, greener and safer place to live, work and learn. Parking will be on Chatsworth Street along the west side of Tampa Avenue. We will be starting around 7AM and meeting on the corner of Chatsworth & Tampa Streets to review the work plan over coffee and bagels. At approximately 11AM we will begin another barbeque serving hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, fruit salad, drinks and various hand outs on the corner of Chatsworth and Tampa under the big tent. Please contact me if you have any questions or need directions.
With your help we are demonstrating that as a united community we are stamping out blighted areas within our neighborhoods by joining hands and working together. Come join us as we have fun working in unity at building a closer community. Thank you
Tom Johnson
President
Northridge West Neighborhood Council
PS: An afternoon event will be held around 2:30 with the Cub Scouts cleaning up Los Alimos Street between Baton Rouge and Vanalden.
