To all Northridge Stakeholders:
A special tribute to all the volunteers that came out on Saturday 9/11/10 in support of Operation Clean Sweep along Tampa Avenue. We honored this special day with Ole Glory in remembrance of those that perished on 9/11/01 along with all the brave men and women in uniform that made the ultimate sacrifices and those that continue to sacrifice so much to defend our freedoms that make our operations possible. Our hearts and prayers are with them.
A Red, White and Blue thank you to Ron & Marlene Wengler, Dick Rippey, Juativa & Warren (Alias Mike) Spurlock, Martha, Glen, and Robert Wilson, Teri Grossmen, Jo Ann Phillips, Debbie and Don Penman, and Chris Williams with Remax Realty for sharing this special day of remembrance with us in preserving the Northridge heritage as a great place to live and work.
In addition to the operations along Tampa Saturday, the Reseda median just south of Lassen Street continues to improve. The irrigation systems are now on programmed timers providing much needed regulated water to many plants that were near extinction.
On another front the medians along Tampa Avenue between Devonshire and the 118 Freeway were surveyed this weekend and found to be in similar need of restoration as those on Reseda Blvd. The medians are in a dust bowl (See attached pictures) state over taking the little patches of grass that are left due to the lack of water from the broken irrigation lines, control valves, timers that are in desperate need of repair. A further update will be posted as to how the medians will be improved.
With your help we are meeting the challenge to push back the blighted streets and medians of Northridge by demonstrating that volunteering time and energy builds a close knit of neighbors and a cleaner and greener community that we all can be proud of.
