Neighborhood Council Board Orientations

To All – Please mark your calenders for May 8th for orientation. It would be great to have 100% turn out.

The Department of Neighborhood Empowerment will be hosting neighborhood council board orientations throughout the city. The board orientations will allow elected board members to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities on the neighborhood council system.
The board orientation (training) is scheduled on May 8, 2010 at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 19700 Rinaldi St., Porter Ranch, Ca from 8am to 1:30pm. A light continental breakfast will open the training followed by welcoming remarks by our General Manager and Board of Neighborhood Commissioners member. The general session will feature presentations on the Neighborhood Council System, Funding, and the roles and responsibilities of Neighborhood Council board members. Breakout sessions will follow to include presentation and discussion on understanding board dynamics and communication skills and effective board organization and management. The day will end with a light lunch and the opportunity to meet and greet and network with fellow board members. Parking is provided. All board members and stakeholders are invited.

We have to RSVP Thomas Soong (323) 359-2579 or email him @ ">.
