Take the plunge for some fun – come and join us make Northridge Shine!

This week’s goal will be to compliment to fantastic job completed on Thursday where the entire south side of Chatsworth was sweep clean by Thursdays clean sweep operations.

So come join us as we work to improve Northridge one block at a time. Be part of a team of dedicated volunteers committed to having fun, meeting new people and making Northridge a cleaner, greener and safer   community to live, learn, work and play. Parking will be on Vanalden Street on the north side of Chatsworth Street. We will be starting around 7AM and meeting on the north-west corner of Chatsworth & Tampa Streets to review the work plan under the NWNC big top tent while sipping hot chocolate & coffee, over fresh baked donuts and brownies. Please contact me if you have any questions or need directions.

With your help we are uniting a community while stamping out unsightly areas within our neighborhoods. So be original and come join us as we continue to clean up and make Northridge and Los Angeles shine!

PS: THANK YOU to last Saturday’s volunteers that polished up the east side of Corbin including the median between Chatsworth and Kingsbury Streets. Efforts continue in repairing the sprinkler systems in the Tampa median between Tunney and Devonshire where we now have water due to the skillful efforts of Coach Dick Rippey. In the following weeks we hope to have many of the branch lines and heads replaced and working so we can concentrate on funding and installing a functioning automatic timer to prevent another year of tumble weeds and dust bowls. Your efforts are making a difference and are being used as the model in many other parts of the Valley now. I am proud that you have chosen to set the trend that will lead to a cleaner, greener, safer Northridge and City as a whole.

I’d like to thank Coach Dick Rippey (Tampa Irrigation crew), Can’t Slow a Good Man Down Ski, Mr. & Mrs. Paul Bunion Marlene & Ron Wengler, Edward Scissorhands Craig Byers (Whom was right behind Ski leading the charge), B-Spice Brookster, Rock-A-Billy Teri Grossman, Clipper Joe Oswald, Commander in Charge Glen Wilson for shaking up Northridge and making the community come together for the best of all stakeholders.

Your ambition, talent and support are what help make Northridge Safe, Secure and Clean.

We are Proud of you!

Tom Johnson
President
Northridge West Neighborhood Council

PS: Please take a moment this Memorial Day weekend to thank all our Brave Men and Women that have and are serving in the military. It is their sacrifices that provide us the freedoms and security we enjoy every day. Thank you
