Northridge West Neighborhood Council Operation Clean Sweep – Week 42 – Chatsworth & Melvin Streets

To all Northridge Stakeholders:

You are all invited this Saturday 4/30/11 (7AM to 10AM) to join Northridge West Neighborhood Councils sponsored Operation Clean Sweep along the North side of Chatsworth Street from Melvin to Corbin Street in Northridge.

Take the plunge for some fun – come and join us!

This week’s goal will be to tackle the blighted areas along the north side of Chatsworth just west of Limekiln Canyon between Melvin to Corbin where the weeds are 2 feet in height.

Come join us as we work to improve the streets of Northridge. You will meet a team of dedicated volunteers committed to having fun, meeting new people and making Northridge a cleaner, greener and safer community to live, learn, work and play. Park on the south side of Chatsworth Street near the corner of Chatsworth and Melvin Streets. We will be starting around 7AM and meeting on the north-west corner of Chatsworth & Corbin Streets to review the work plan under the NWNC big top tent while sipping hot chocolate & coffee, over fresh baked donuts and brownies. PS: A GREAT BIG THANK YOU! to last Saturday’s clean up team for a job Well Done! These volunteers smacked the ball out of the park with over 120 bags of debris removed and disposed of. Here is what one stakeholder described the efforts:

“I just wanted to thank all of the volunteered who cleaned up on Plummer Street, West of Tampa and East of Shirley last weekend! My family and I were so surprised to see all the volunteers working so hard and the street / hedge has never looked so good!”

PS: CUB SCOUT PACK 911 PANCAKE IS HOLDING A BREAKFAST – SATURDAY MAY 7, 2011

Why cook when you can enjoin a delicious fresh cooked pancake breakfast while supporting our local Cub Scouts for just $5 per person.

Scout Pack 911 of Northridge will host a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on Saturday, May 7, from 8-11 a.m. at the Northridge United Methodist Church located at 9650 Reseda Boulevard (corner of Superior and Reseda – enter off Superior).

Our scouts use these funds to participate in educational activities and outings. Thanks for your support!
